A friend told me about this site recently www.iwearyourshirt.com

The introduction to the site speaks for itself:

“In this up and down economy I’m outsourcing my wardrobe (namely shirts) to corporate america and you! I’m going to wear a different shirt for 365 days straight in 2009, take multiple pictures throughout my day and blog about it. Days are sold at “face value” so January 1 is $1 and December 31 is $365.”

Obviously this is American. I have not been bothered to sit down and work out how much money this guy will get (anyone?). However, 208 out of 265 days have been brought.

For your dollar this guy wears your t-shirt (that your company has to provide) and Jason will wear it for one day, will provide pictures and you will get a sponsorship image and link on the website.

So, what do you think? It is a pretty novel idea. But, would it work in the UK or indeed, any other Country or this one of those typically ‘American’ projects?

Would love to hear your thoughts,

Mark

As soon as an Iraqi journalist threw a shoe,in protest at President Bush, Alex Tew, the mind behind milliondollarhomepage.com, got to work! Alex devised a genius online viral game whereby the gamers have 60 seconds to throw as many shoes as they can at President Bush.

In 24 hours www.sockandawe.com had gone viral and over 500,000 people had visited the site, in the next 24 hours over a million people were to hit the website and millions of shoes had metaphorically thrown at the Bush himself. With media interest, tv and radio interviews and on millions of websites around the World. Alex and his team capitalised on the the media interest and put the website up for sale on ebay and within 24 hours had sold the website for over £5,000 - not bad for 4 days work!

The website was sold in order to raise money for Alex’s new venture www.popjam.com

Check out the website on www.sockandawe.com

Once again, I am in awe of Alex Tew!

Here is a nice little idea from a Nerve member, Terri Crowther. I originally met Terri when she became a tribe member and began to discover the passion that both her and her family have for the environment and ecology. Terri and her children have now launched an exciting UK based eco-village project.Greenwellymonster.co.uk is a family orientated concept which has the aim of inspiring other familes to pay a small amount of money in order to come together to buy a plot of land, in the U.K and rear animals, grow food and preserve the location as a way of positively inputting into the environment.

As somone who loves crowd sourcing I believe that this is a fantastic project and I wish Terri all the best with it - the key will be finding the location, so, if anyone has any ideas… head over to greenwellymonster.co.uk
